This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our website at thejpleague.com and our mobile application (collectively, the "Platform"). • Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account
• Player profile: Display name, jersey number, position, height, photo, Instagram handle, and biographical information
• Payment information: Billing name, address, and payment method details (processed securely by Stripe; we never store full card numbers)
• Communications: Messages you send to us, feedback, and support requests

Information Collected Automatically

• Game statistics: Points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, turnovers, field goal percentages, and other basketball performance metrics captured via SportsVisio AI-powered cameras during league games
• Video and media: Game footage, highlight clips, and thumbnails recorded at league events
• Device and usage data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, app version, pages visited, features used, and interaction timestamps
• Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies for authentication sessions and analytics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and maintain the Platform, including your player profile and account
• Display your game statistics, standings, and season averages
• Host and deliver game videos and highlight clips
• Process league registration payments and manage your membership
• Send you league announcements, game schedules, and score notifications
• Match your identity to game footage for accurate stat attribution
• Generate league standings, leaderboards, and season records
• Improve the Platform through analytics and usage patterns
• Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Video and Highlight Content

Games played in JP League are recorded via camera systems for stat tracking and highlight generation. By participating in JP League games, you acknowledge and consent to being recorded during league play. This footage is used to:

• Generate player-level game statistics
• Create highlight clips viewable on the Platform
• Produce league-wide highlight reels and season compilations

You retain control over your highlight visibility settings (private, team-only, or public) through your account. You may request removal of specific video content by contacting us. League administrators may use game footage for promotional and marketing purposes related to JP League.

4. How We Share Your Information

Service Providers

We share your information with third-party services that help us operate the Platform. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify:

• Clerk (authentication) — processes your email, phone number, and session data to manage sign-in. See Clerk's Privacy Policy
• Supabase (database and storage) — hosts your account data, statistics, and media files. See Supabase's Privacy Policy
• Stripe (payments) — processes your registration payments. Stripe handles all payment card data under PCI DSS compliance. We never receive or store your full card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy
• Mux (video) — transcodes, hosts, and streams game videos and highlight clips. See Mux's Privacy Policy
• SportsVisio (stat tracking) — processes game footage to generate player statistics using AI-powered computer vision. See SportsVisio's website
• Vercel (hosting) — hosts our website
• Expo / EAS (mobile app distribution) — delivers app updates and builds

What We Do Not Share

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with sports betting companies, advertisers, data brokers, or marketing agencies. We do not allow third parties to contact you for their own marketing purposes using information collected through the Platform.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

5. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion, except as noted below
• Game statistics: Retained as permanent league records. Upon account deletion, your name may be anonymized but statistical records are preserved for historical integrity
• Video content: Retained as long as you choose to keep it on the Platform. You may delete your videos at any time; deletion is permanent within 7 days
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years for tax and regulatory compliance, then deleted
• Usage analytics: Retained in anonymized/aggregated form; individual-level data deleted within 12 months

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data by requesting a copy of the information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information through your account settings or by contacting us
• Delete your account and associated personal data through Settings or by contacting us
• Export your data, including your statistics and highlight videos
• Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email
• Control video visibility through your privacy settings

7. Children's Privacy

JP League is designed for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@thejpleague.com.

For participants aged 13–17, we require parental or guardian consent for account creation and participation in league activities.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), encrypted data storage, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at privacy@thejpleague.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Platform and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
